We’ll learn three iconic tunes from the period for your repertoire of historic melodies. “Chester,” the unofficial anthem of resistance, by Willam Billings will start us off. “Johnny Has Gone for a Soldier”, the beautiful minor melody, sometimes known as “Buttermilk Hill”, will bring a tear. We’ll finish with the rousing “Free America” to the tune of “The British Grenadiers.” You’ll recognize each and enjoy playing some lovely arrangements. Bring a capo.
