Online Orientation

We want this event to be a success! In order for that to happen, we need you to be ready to use ZOOM by August 28th. Below are a number of resources to help you prepare. Please take advantage of the support we have, and if necessary, visit Zoom.us for further support. We will have a help desk running throughout the workshops to assist, but please prepare in advance. Out of respect for all workshop participants, instructors are asked NOT be provide in-depth Zoom support during workshops, so it’s best to work out the kinks in advance.

With over 1000 participants, we will not be able to help everyone individually at the last minute.

Test Session

As online learning has become more commonplace, most people have become accustomed to using Zoom. As a result, participation in test sessions has diminished to the point where it is not a productive use of time. In lieu of dedicated Zoom test sessions, we encourage you to simply join in the Vendor night by clicking any of the vendor links. If you see and hear the vendors in the meetings, then you know you’re ready to go! For these workshops, it is not imperative for your microphone and camera to work. If something is amiss, you can problem solve in advance by troubleshooting online, or you can go to the help desk when it opens.

Again, test Zoom on your own or with a friend before your workshops. We love to see and hear you, but if you have trouble with your own microphone or camera, don’t fret over it. You can visit the help desk if it’s that much of a concern for you, but you’ll be able to ask questions during the workshop in the Zoom chat. As long as you can see and hear your instructor, you will be ok.
