A “canon” is a round where all the parts can be played together, e.g. Pachelbel's “Canon in D.” ”Evergreen” is an exquisite canon in A minor alternating simple chords with linear melodic variations that invite possibilities for improvisations based on its chord progression–reminiscent of Taizé chants. It will be on Karen’s new recording “Hands of the Healer,” accompanied by the composer on cello, Sophie Chang. (June 2026 Release.) Good for Level 5. Class Recorded.
