To build a good foundation for playing the mountain dulcimer with freedom and expression, one must, as the British say, “Start as you mean to go on!” Using the traditional melodies “Old Joe Clark,” “Waterbound,” and “Simple Gifts,” we will practice sound posture as well as left and right hand techniques including pick technique, strumming, and fingerwalking.
