Because of their rhythm and simple chord progressions, traditional waltzes are often perfect for our hammered dulcimer solo repertoire, as we can play the melody and accompaniment simultaneously. In this workshop, we’ll learn “Emma Vals”, one of the best known traditional waltzes from Finland, and use hands separation, with left hand for melody and right hand for accompaniment, to achieve a compelling solo arrangement. 12/12 dulcimer or larger is needed.
