You’ll start with the old time standard “Liberty.” We’ll experiment with ways to “dress up the bones” of this simple melody, using melodic, harmonic and rhythmic variations. You’ll take the concepts and try ‘em out on melodies in different meters and keys. You’ll find ideas that are useful and enjoyable, whether playing in a jam session or working on arrangements both solo and in ensemble. Most importantly, they’re big fun!
