Amanda Roberts

2017 National Hammer Dulcimer Champion, Amanda Roberts has been a performing musician for more than 25 years. Primarily a pianist, she completed her Bachelor of Music degree in percussion performance at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She is currently the rehearsal pianist for the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra Chorus and Director of Music and Liturgical Ministries at Christ Our Hope Anglican Church in Fairborn, OH.  Amanda is also a composer and homeschool teacher to her youngest child.  

Inspired by the music of Rich Mullins, Amanda purchased her first hammered dulcimer in 2000.  Since then, she has performed at various venues, including the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center in Troy, OH, Coshocton Dulcimer Days, ODPC Funfest, and the Walnut Valley Festival.

Amanda expresses a sensitivity toward phrasing, melody, and texture in her compositions and arrangements, which are rooted in a variety of musical genres.  Her passion is to help others experience joy through music.
